Welcome to the Calgary Academy 40th Celebration Golf Tournament

This September marks the beginning of Calgary Academy’s 40th year celebration. To kick off our year of celebration, Calgary Academy will be hosting a golf tournament on Monday, September 27 at Bearspaw Golf Club. Golf tournaments are opportunities to bring people together, and we hope to do exactly that! On September 27, our hope is that members of the CA community come out to play golf and reconnect with one another.

In addition to a great excuse to come together and reconnect, this tournament will also serve as an opportunity to help the Calgary Academy community realize two very important goals through fundraising – the purchase of a new Knights bus and continued fundraising for the Calgary Academy Parents Association Bursary fund.

Money raised in conjunction with the tournament will go towards the $100,000 purchase price of a new bus, which will be used to transport students and staff to and from sporting events, field trips and community engagement opportunities.

We are so excited to celebrate with our students, staff, families, and community. We can’t wait to see you on the course!

50/50 Draw

Thank you to everyone who supported the 50/50, raising funds to support CAPA student bursaries. Congratulations to CA parent Jason Brooks who won the draw.

Cost: $225 per person, $900 per foursome – click on “Register” to purchase tickets.

Registration includes: 18 holes of golf, use of driving range and practice facility, golf cart, boxed lunch, dinner, and prizes

The Calgary Academy 40th Anniversary Gala taking place on September 24, 2022, has been cancelled.

Over the past year, our 40th Anniversary Gala had been postponed three times. Despite tremendous efforts from our Gala Committee volunteers, ticket sales for the Gala were not in line with our expectations. Rather than run a smaller event than anticipated, Calgary Academy has decided to cancel altogether. We will be issuing refunds in the next few weeks.

While this is not the conclusion to our Anniversary Year we’d hoped for, Calgary Academy ran three very successful anniversary events last year. You can view recap videos from our September Golf Tournament, our Student Mural project, our May Legacy Event, and our May Reunion to relive the memories and see evidence of our wonderful celebrations. We also developed a robust historical archive that will only continue to grow over time, and launched a Postmedia campaign thanking the great City of Calgary for 40 years of support.

The Reunion will occur at Calgary Academy and will utilize indoor and outdoor spaces, with themed spaces for different decades or periods in CA’s history. All alumni, current students and families, and staff are invited!

Activities Include:

• Free BBQ staffed by familiar CA faces
• Bouncy castles and a petting zoo
• The unveiling of the CA Archive and Anniversary Mural
• An Art Walk showcasing CA’s talented student works
• A GaGa Ball Tournament
• Some of Calgary’s finest Food Trucks (note: food trucks at each guests own cost)

There will be a special CA-themed sweet treat for the first 200 people to arrive on Saturday, May 14.

Note: As our celebration will be taking up much of the CA parking lot, free parking will be available at Webber Academy, with a shuttle provided to CA.
